THE BRAND
Petra Kubíková is a Bratislava-based designer. She graduated from the Fashion studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in 2015. Typical elements of her work are the stylization of shapes, simplicity, combinability and neatness. She finds inspiration in Japanese culture, especially Tokyo and its atmosphere, as well as in music and art history. Petra considers the materials she uses and their properties as principal and determinative factors in her art. She works with natural materials such as wool, cotton, and leather amongst others. Petra draws from an expansive set of rich
experiences from the fashion competitions, exhibitions and shows held not only in Slovakia but also in the Czech Republic, Hungary, New Zealand, Belgium and England. She received The Best Fashion Graduate Prize upon completion of her bachelor's degree. Her diploma collection brought her the Fashion Live Fresh Designer Award. In 2018 she was awarded NOIZZ Fashion Award for the most popular designer in Slovakia.
THE COLLECTION
The AW 24/25 collection called f l u i d u m is inspired by the atmosphere of the winter season. Coldness, snow, ice, and wind are the elements that enter the collection in the form of colour, silhouette, structure, and layering. Individual garments are based on simple geometry, which smoothly transfers into organic shapes. The straight line thus turns into a curve and the surface takes on volume.
The collection is rich in structures. Fabrics with a contrasting surfaces meet in one look, but thanks to the colour they create a harmonious unit. Outfits are complemented by wooden earrings of an organic shape in the colors of the clothes.
