THE DESIGNER
AMANDA DURKÓ is a young, emerging fashion brand founded by designer Amanda Fragoso-Durkó. After graduating in 2024 from Modart Budapest, Amanda is now pursuing a Master's degree in Textile Design at the prestigious Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), further honing her skills and creative vision. The AMANDA DURKÓ brand embodies a fresh, innovative approach to fashion, blending art and design with a focus on craftsmanship and individuality. Each collection is deeply influenced by Amanda's personal experiences, artistic inspirations, and her passion for creating garments that tell a story. With a focus on contemporary aesthetics, the brand’s designs merge bold concepts with sophisticated techniques, offering unique pieces that stand out in the fashion landscape.

THE COLLECTION
The inspiration for AMANDA DURKÓ's collection stems from her childhood memories, with a focus on the artistic vision these experiences evoked. She draws inspiration from objects created in the 1960s and 1970s, which remained in her grandparents' apartment in downtown Budapest. These pieces from that era left a lasting impression on her. The rich forms, colors, and textures of ceramics, vases, wall hangings, and upholstery within their living spaces became the foundation of her creative process.
At the heart of this collection lies the reinterpretation of these ceramic pieces—their colors, shapes, and textures. These elements come together to create a visual narrative that bridges the past and the present.
In her designs, Amanda Durkó not only captures the motifs of these ceramics but also their dynamic, playful energy. She combines the smooth, fluid surfaces of vases with the structured forms of carpets and cushions, while exploring the dialogue between contrasting textures and colors.
