THE DESIGNER
Kinga Csorba is a fashion design master's student at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. During her BA studies, she focused on apparel and pattern design. In her work, she places particular emphasis on an experimental approach to forms and structures, striving to explore each shape from multiple perspectives, whether in terms of tailoring or technological solutions. Her commitment to sustainability drives her to use deadstock materials, reducing waste and giving new meaning to existing fabrics. She believes that fashion can be both a tool for aesthetic and ethical value creation, enriched by technological innovations to shape a sustainable future.
THE COLLECTION
The "Csimbókos" collection is inspired by the unique forms of traditional Hungarian hairstyles, which she has reinterpreted with humor and a creative approach. The distinctive tailoring lines and patterns evoke characteristic elements of Hungarian men's hairstyles from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as swept-back, twisted, or braided locks, and the "csimbók" knots gathered above the forehead. The reversed tailoring patterns featured in the collection reflect a sense of playfulness and continuity while adding new dimensions to the garments. In line with her sustainability principles, she used deadstock materials in this collection as well, minimizing waste and giving new life to existing fabrics. The resulting collection stays true to tradition while reflecting contemporary fashion, playfully bridging the past and the present.
