LAN KREBS (SI)

THE DESIGNER

Lan Krebs is a Master’s graduate from the Swedish School of Textiles, focusing on the innovative exploration of knitting, specializing in circular knit techniques. His work utilizes knitting machines as tools for conceptual development and creative experimentation. By combining knitting with additional processes such as printing, dyeing, and pleating, he creates distinctive, forward-thinking textile designs.

Committed to pushing the creative boundaries of single jersey material, Lan Krebs operates at the intersection of craft, design, and technology, shaping a progressive vision for the future of fashion.

THE BRAND

Lan Krebs redefines the potential of single jersey fabric, transforming it from a traditionally plain material into a dynamic, innovative textile full of creative possibilities. Through experimental techniques and a deep exploration of yarn interaction, texture, and construction, the brand elevates single jersey to a central design element. Utilizing methods such as pleating, space dyeing, and burnout, Lan Krebs challenges conventional fabric manipulation and pushes the boundaries of contemporary garment design. Each piece reflects a commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and the reinvention of foundational materials, establishing a fresh, forward-thinking vision at the intersection of fashion, technology, and textile experimentation.

THE COLLECTION

The collection challenges the traditional perception of single jersey fabric, often seen as plain and uninspiring. By transforming it into an exciting, dynamic material full of creative potential. Through experimental techniques, single jersey is elevated from a simple foundational fabric to a central design feature, becoming fresh, versatile, and innovative. The design program explores a range of techniques using a single jersey knitting machine, focusing on interactions between yarn types, surface textures, and construction methods to achieve striking results. Additionally, it integrates post-treatment processes such as pleating, space dyeing, and burnout, demonstrating how traditional fabric manipulation can create unconventional and bold outcomes. This exploration aims to push the boundaries of creativity in garment design and expand the possibilities of what single jersey can become.
