MOKUNA (SRB)

THE BRAND

Mokuna focuses mostly on handmade, custom, authentic, and the story behind a piece. When trying to tell a story, the design imposes itself and becomes the answer to the question "Why?", you are making a new universe and not only creating a product.

An important part of this story is wool, processed with the traditional and one of the oldest wool processing techniques felting. It is a natural material and the most compatible with human skin.

THE COLLECTION

The core idea of the collection, "PHOTOSYNTHESIS" is to adapt traditional techniques, materials, and methods to a modern, attractive form and create authenticity.

The idea and field of research of this collection is the moment of inner experience of ourselves and the world around us. This time, the focus is on the moment of self-acknowledgment, and acceptance, moving away from the energy that holds us back and returning to nature, roots, and ourselves.

The process is grouped into three segments, three main elements - the element of water as a symbol of life, roots, a symbol of security and grounding, and a flower, the crown of the process itself. Each element represents both the photosynthesis process itself and the life cycles of each of us, observing them both symbolically and philosophically.

Although there is a lot of layering, mixing, and matching of materials in an atypical way, the focus is on the wool. Most of the pieces are made of hand-felted wool. A large number of hand-sewn and hand-finished elements run through the entire collection.

Bold and eccentric, these pieces are not purposefully made for any target group, but at the same time, they are created for all those fascinated by the world outside and inside themselves, who want to feel fresh and inspired, who want to dream awake.
