THE DESIGNER
Judit Pinter is a starting fashion designer from Budapest. She created the brand 'nankin' during a university project. It is a one-person brand that summarizes her concept collections designed and executed by herself. Ready-to-wear womenswear design is in the focus of her interest. She finds it an exciting challange to design stylish garments considering functionality, technical details and market preferences.
THE BRAND
'Nankin' is an upcoming brand based in Budapest. It combines the designer’s two opposite interests, the sparkling urban culture and the peaceful rural living.
Natural materials help to make the urban living comfortable, with refined cutting lines and toughtful details. The collections are often inspired by the designer’s family myths and visual archives. The garments themselves are storytelling puzzle pieces.
To match the garments, you can make your own matching accessories with our DIY- sets. True to the brand’s ars poetica, some of the materials are recycled, and the production is local, ethical and one-of a- piece.
THE COLLECTION
The flying SS collection the designer was inspired by her ever-cool Grandma, who wanted to be an aerobatic pilot back in the days. But what if she was young today? She explores the possibilities of her imaginary wardrobe trough this collection.
The concept of her capsule collection was to visualize the children– adult contrast with the help of fashion design. The main inspiration wa sthe book „If I were a grown-up” by a Hungarian writer Eva Janikovszky. The designer linked different notions to adults and chlidren, then she visualized her concept through collage-making. Starting from her collage as a visual guide, she designed a 12 look collection, which features the contrast of black &white, geometric elements and brightly coloured organic shapes.
