Lucija Sila Kejžar is a Slovenian fashion designer, educated at the renowned ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands, where she developed a deep understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of fashion. Her journey also took her to Paris, where she worked in a fast-paced fashion environment, facing the realities of the industry. This experience shaped her perspective on the challenges within mainstream fashion, reinforcing her commitment to creating pieces that honor both heritage and sustainability. Kejžar’s team preserves age-old techniques such as hand-knitting, crochet, and stone pleating. This dedication to ethical production not only supports local communities but also revitalizes cultural heritage. Together, Kejžar and her team share a unified vision, bringing to life the timeless values and ideas that SILA represents.
THE BRAND
Sila Kejžar draws deeply from Balkan folklore, religious symbolism, and domestic rituals, reinterpreting them through a stripped-down, modern lens. The brand works with a monochrome discipline that shifts the focus to silhouettes and material storytelling.
Sila Kejžar sources high-end deadstock materials in combination with handmade antique textiles, bringing layers of history, craftsmanship, and emotional texture into each garment. The nature of these materials allows for variation in every item. Through reinterpretation rather than replication, Sila Kejžar creates garments that speak softly but with authority, balancing cultural inheritance with the discipline of form.
Every piece is made to order in Slovenia and Serbia through close partnerships with local artisans and family-run workshops. Named after Jožefa Sila, the brand is a tribute to the woman, grandmother, and seamstress who quietly shaped the craft behind Sila Kejžar.
THE COLLECTION
SILA KEJŽAR, after several seasons of thoughtful development and refinement, proudly presents its first commercial collection — Birtah 2.0 — a debut that takes flight in the form it was always meant to. Divided into two chapters, Birtah and Birtah 2.0, the collection reflects a confident evolution and the full maturation of the brand’s vision.
Birtah 2.0 — the Spring/Summer 2026 collection — focuses on three key elements: the apron, headscarf, and vest – all deeply rooted in Balkan heritage. These pieces are reinterpreted in a refined, wearable way, preserving their historical value while adapting them to modern fashion. The collection follows the brand's signature palette of black, white, and touches of navy, emphasizing their timelessness and versatility. It reflects SILA KEJŽAR’s core values: heritage with a contemporary twist, exceptional craftsmanship, and a strong commitment to sustainability and ethical production.
