THE BRAND
The Jackob Buczyński brand was founded in 2017 with a clear and powerful mission: to challenge the pervasive overproduction of goods, particularly within the fashion industry. The brand was born from a desire to offer an alternative to the wasteful, fast-fashion culture, using creativity as a tool for environmental activism.
The brand's first flagship product, the upcycled fringed jackets under the hashtag #jacketbyjackob, became an emblem of this mission. These jackets, crafted from repurposed materials, quickly became iconic for their unique aesthetic, while carrying with them an important message about the need to reduce consumption and repurpose existing resources.
As the brand evolved, several collections were released in collaboration with Wtórpol**, a leading Polish textile sorting plant. This partnership enabled Buczyński to access large quantities of used clothing and materials, which he transformed into bespoke, one-of-akind garments. Over time, the brand expanded its offerings to include a wide range of tailor-made pieces, from jackets and dresses to accessories, all created with upcycled textiles.
Sustainability is at the heart of Jackob Buczyński's design philosophy. The brand has recycled hundreds of kilograms of used clothing, repurposing garments that would otherwise end up in landfills. Each product is made from materials sourced from the Wtórpol sorting plant, which plays a key role in this recycling process. The plant sorts and processes second-hand textiles, making them available for upcycling into new, highquality fashion pieces.
The upcycling movement promoted by Jackob Buczyński is a form of activism in itself. It emphasizes the importance of rethinking the life cycle of garments and materials, pushing for more conscious, mindful consumption. Through his work, Buczyński aims to educate and inspire people to make more sustainable choices, encouraging the use of recycled materials and the repurposing of old textiles, which ultimately reduces the need for new resources.
THE COLLECTION
Jackob Buczynski brand's collection for the fall/winter 24/25 season is created in close cooperation with the Wtórpol used clothing sorting plant from where 100% of the materials used in the collection come. The collection is inspired by women and their fascinating stories of living in a society where a woman's highest goal is to get married and take care of the home. The immediate inspiration came from the wedding dresses of the Polish women who gave us their dresses to use, which have many memories and emotions in them, good and sometimes bad. Now they have a chance for a new life in a unique form, representing completely different qualities of a modern woman - strength, courage, wisdom and sex appeal. Among the second-hand materials that form the foundation of the collection are tulle, corsets, kilim fabric, lace and leather - elements full of texture and stories. The collection includes 20 silhouettes, both women's and men's, that balance elegance and creativity. Each piece reflects a conscious approach to fashion and sustainability, combining style with ecological responsibility.
