THE DESIGNER
Jackob Buczyński is a Polish fashion designer specialising in upcycling, which involves creating fashion from reclaimed materials. His work often combines creativity with ecological awareness, a hallmark of the sustainable fashion movement.
Upcycling, which Buczyński practices, is the process of repurposing and reusing materials, clothing, or other elements to give them new value and aesthetic appeal. The designer and his team focus on unique, handmade collections that often feature unconventional combinations of fabrics and forms. His creations are not only a reflection of artistic passion but also a response to issues of overproduction and waste in the fashion industry.
Jackob Buczyński’s collections are characterised by a complex aesthetic, experimentation with form and materials, and frequent references to individuality in fashion. His designs can be seen as more than just clothing — they are statements about fashion, ecology, and social responsibility.
THE BRAND
The Jackob Buczyński brand was founded in 2017 with a clear and powerful mission to challenge overproduction within the fashion industry. The brand was born from a desire to offer an alternative to fast-fashion culture, using creativity as a tool for environmental activism. Its first flagship product — upcycled fringed jackets crafted from repurposed materials — became iconic for their unique aesthetic while carrying an important message about the need to reduce consumption and repurpose existing resources.
As the brand evolved, several collections were released in collaboration with Wtórpol, a leading Polish textile-sorting company. This partnership enabled Buczyński to access large quantities of used materials, which he transformed into unique garments. The brand expanded its offerings to include a wide range of tailored pieces, jackets, dresses, and accessories.
Sustainability is at the heart of Jackob Buczyński’s design philosophy. The brand has recycled hundreds of kilograms of used clothing. Beyond creation, Buczyński educates and inspires people to make more sustainable choices, encouraging the use of recycled materials.
THE COLLECTION
The AW26/27 collection, Shine Bright Like Jackob, celebrates uniqueness in a grey, automated world. Each silhouette is crafted entirely from reclaimed fabrics such as sequins, leather, and towels, and is full of colour, texture, and personality. The pieces blend classic tailoring with sculptural forms and dynamic movement, transforming everyday garments into wearable works of art.
Rooted in Buczyński’s belief that fashion should bring joy, awareness, and individuality, the collection encourages everyone to express their true selves while embracing sustainability. With every creation, Jackob Buczyński continues to prove that fashion’s future shines brightest when it is made with purpose.
