THE COLLECTION
NUBU has been a key player in the Hungarian fashion scene for more than 17 years, where every season the works of a Hungarian artist provide inspiration for new collections. For the next autumn-winter collection, the works of sculptor Tamás Melkovics provided the creative basis. Tamás's sculptures suggest dynamism - as if at any moment they could be in motion, crawling off the postamens, or even speaking to us with voices. Within the world of organic abstraction, his works create a formal language that is directly connected to the collective
unconscious, evoking associations with the living world, birth, movement and living things.
During the designing of the collection, we were fascinated by the way Tamás' sculptures almost come to life, and the mosaic-like logic of the construction of the forms. These elements were fundamental to the look of the collection. In addition to the black colour that is typical of NUBU, the new pieces also feature silver, reminiscent of the cold, metallic tones of aluminium, and the warm iron colour that often recurs in the sculptor's work.
The organic form that is central to Tamás's art and sculpture is clearly reflected in the collection. The unique sculptural elements create an exciting, innovative collection that perfectly combines NUBU's clean style with the inspiration of contemporary Hungarian art.
